Male Ambassador Program

KidZKount: Placer Community Action Council, Inc.

Golden Sierra Life Skills is the contract provider for the KidZKount: Placer Community Action Council (P.C.A.C.), Inc and oversees the Male Involvement Program.

The goal of the Male Involvement program is to encourage and support fathers/father figures in the role of an active participant in the lives of children.  This is done by providing a variety of opportunities for participation/interactions in the KidZKount: Placer Community Action Council (P.C.A.C.) system.

Golden Sierra Life Skills developed and implemented the School Site Male Ambassador Program.  This program provides Ambassador training to father/father figures who volunteer at each school site.  After the Ambassadors complete their training they become peer educators and mentors who support and encourage other father/father figures to participate in Head Start Program activities:

  • “Daddy, Read To Me!”  This program is an early literacy program that instills the importance of fathers/father figures reading to their children to stimulate brain development and bonding with their children.
  • "Daddy Read to Me" Red Bucks:  Red Bucks is the incentive program for participating in the "Daddy Read to Me” early literacy program.
  • "Daddy in the Picture": This program encourages fathers/father figures to participate in taking pictures with their children engaged in activities together.  The pictures are posted in a socialization board at the school site for the children to see.
  • Family Monthly Meetings:  Father/father figures are encouraged to participate in Program School Site Monthly meetings.
  • Policy Council/Committee(s):  Father/father figures are encouraged to participate in the Head Start/Early Head Start governing committees.
  • Involved Males Advisory committee.
  • Opportunities for Male Parenting EducationMen, Infants, and Children (MIC) Parenting and Life Skills Program for Father/Father Figures with children 0- 5, Man-to-Man Parenting/Life Skills/Peer Support Education for Father/Father Figures with children 6 - teens.

Golden Sierra can tailor the Ambassador Program the fit the needs of your Agency.

We will come to your site and provide a two day training of trainers.   Your staff will learn how to recruit, train, and sustain father/father figures in your Agency's program.

For more information regarding this training contact our office at 530-887-9245.
